Trijicon ACOGs and Bible Verse
by Steve on Jan.21, 2010, under Defense
It’s been reported that Trijicon ACOGs have references to Bible verses on them. This is causing much consternation to people who must have a lot of time to kill. The argument is that these verses may offend Muslim Terrorists. These people with so much time on their hands are calling for the military to stop using the Trijicon ACOGs.
It would be a sad situation if the military bows to such political correctness. The ACOG, which stands for Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight, is a fine piece of hardware. They are durable, compact, and lightweight. They have very good light transmission properties for the size objective lens.
The ACOGs come with multiple reticles and generally have a fiber optic illuminated point for targeting in low-light situations. If you’ve ever watched stock footage of Marines fighting in Afghanistan, you’ve probably seen the Trijicon ACOG in action.
In the future, the military can work out with Trijicon on whether they leave the markings on these Rifle Scopes. In the short term, it would be bad for our troops if they were directed to stop using them.
Oh, and watch your spelling. A lot of people mistakenly call it Trigicon but that ain’t right.
